SDICBSA's Jamboree Troop 704 Featured on "Scouting for Adventure"!

This Spring, when the six youth leaders of Jamboree Troop 704 got together to shoot sample video interviews for the Outdoor Channel, little did they know where it would lead. Over the Memorial Day Council Jamboree “shake-out” outing, they learned that they from all of the councils who had auditioned, they had been selected to be featured in "Scouting for Adventure" and were met by the camera crew preparing the Jamboree episodes. The camera crew followed the six boys that weekend, and were waiting again at the Jamboree in Virginia where they began taping before the Scouts could even get their tents up.

For the ten days of the the 100th Anniversary Jamboree, the camera crew taped Troop 704 from San Diego - Imperial Council every day doing activities from fishing to scuba and from a troop meeting to the arena show. The boys even got to enjoy occasional benefits from traveling with the crew - like jumping to the front of a few lines!

One of the best surprises was in learning that both of the producers onsite are Eagle Scouts. The Scouts followed were Senior Patrol Leader Blaine Shelton, ASPL’s Kenan Millet and Brendan Daly, Hometown News Correspondent Jovan Millet, and Patrol Leaders Justin Kirk and Sam White.

We're proud to say congratulations to these fine young men for the fantastic opportunity to be featured on the Outdoor Channel's "Scouting for Adventure" show and invite all of you to watch in the coming weeks!
